RCMC Certificate

RCMC Certificate — Export Promotion Council Registration and Renewal

The Registration cum Membership Certificate is the document that makes an exporter eligible for benefits under the Foreign Trade Policy. Without a valid RCMC from the council that covers your product, applications for authorizations and several scheme benefits are simply not entertained.

We identify the correct council for your export basket, complete the registration through the DGFT common digital platform, and keep the certificate current with renewals and product additions.

What RCMC work covers

  • Identifying the correct Export Promotion Council, commodity board or FIEO for your products
  • Fresh RCMC registration through the DGFT common digital platform
  • Renewal before expiry, including block renewals for multi-year validity
  • Addition or deletion of products, and amendment of address, constitution and directors
  • Change of category between merchant exporter, manufacturer exporter and service provider
  • Coordination where the export basket spans multiple councils

Choosing the right council

Councils are organised by product line — engineering, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, textiles, apparel, plastics, gems and jewellery, agricultural and processed food, marine products, and so on, with commodity boards for tea, coffee, spices, rubber and tobacco. FIEO covers multi-product exporters and service exporters that do not fall under a single council. Registering with a council that does not cover your principal product is a common and expensive mistake: scheme applications get rejected on the ground that the RCMC is not from the competent authority. We check your ITC-HS lines against council jurisdiction before applying.

  • Product-wise council mapping against your ITC-HS codes
  • Merchant vs manufacturer exporter category selection
  • Multi-product exporters and service exporters routed appropriately
  • Council-level membership benefits — trade fairs, buyer-seller meets, market intelligence

Why a valid RCMC matters beyond compliance

Apart from unlocking authorization and scheme applications, an active RCMC gives access to council-sponsored trade delegations, international exhibition subsidies, market development assistance, buyer databases and country-specific market intelligence. For a growing exporter, these are practical channels for finding buyers in new geographies rather than only a compliance formality.
