Advance Authorization 2026: New Fast-Track Norms for Bio-Ceramics
DGFT Notification 2026 introduces fast-track Advance Authorization for Bio-Ceramic exporters. Apply now for duty-free raw material imports and 30-day processing.

## Key points
As per DGFT Notification No. 42/2024-2025 issued on August 13, 2026, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade has introduced a streamlined ‘Fast-Track’ process for the Bio-Ceramic manufacturing sector under the Advance Authorization Scheme. This move aims to bolster India’s position in the global medical grade material market. Exporters of dental implants, orthopedic grafts, and synthetic bone scaffolds can now bypass traditional technical committee delays for standard input-output norms (SION) where generic benchmarks are already established.
## What this means for exporters
Under this new advisory, eligible manufacturers can import raw materials like high-purity alumina and zirconia without paying Basic Customs Duty (BCD), provided they fulfill the export obligation within the stipulated 18-month window. The primary benefit is the reduction in processing time from 90 days to just 30 days for application approval on the DGFT portal. This significantly improves liquidity and production scheduling for SMEs in the medical device sector.
## Who should act now
Manufacturers and merchant exporters of medical-grade bio-ceramics should verify their HSN codes against the updated Appendix 4J immediately to leverage these expedited benefits.
