DGFT Notification: New Criteria for Export Performance Certificate 2024
Understand the updated DGFT criteria for obtaining Export Performance Certificates to access preferential treatment and global procurement opportunities in 2024.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, through the DGFT, has refreshed the qualifying criteria for the issuance of Export Performance Certificates. These certificates are crucial for Indian entities looking to participate in international tenders and showcase their standing as reliable global suppliers. The update focuses on harmonizing export turnover calculations with the new Foreign Trade Policy 2023 framework, emphasizing net foreign exchange earnings over gross turnover.
## Key points for SME exporters
To qualify, manufacturers must demonstrate sustained export growth over the preceding three financial years. As underlined in recent DGFT circulars, the application process has been fully digitized through the DGFT Single Sign-On (SSO) portal. Exporters no longer need to submit physical copies of Bank Realization Certificates (eBRCs), as the system now pulls data directly from the integrated banking server. This transparency reduces the lead time for certificate issuance from weeks to just a few days. Obtaining this certificate is often a prerequisite for high-value industrial subsidies and state-level incentives, making it a priority for growing firms looking to scale their international footprint.
