DGFT Trade Notice: New Electronic Bank Realization Certificate (eBRC)
DGFT introduces a revamped eBRC system for 2024 to simplify export benefit claims. Learn how self-certification reduces the compliance burden for exporters.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has transitioned to a new, automated Electronic Bank Realization Certificate (eBRC) system to facilitate a seamless export ecosystem. As highlighted in DGFT Trade Notice No. 33/2023-24, the revamped system shifts the primary responsibility of reporting inward remittances to a self-certification model based on electronic data transmitted by banks.
Previously, exporters faced delays waiting for banks to generate BRCs manually. The new system allows exporters to view their IRMs (Inward Remittance Messages) on the DGFT portal and self-generate eBRCs by linking them to relevant shipping bills. This integration is crucial for claiming benefits under the RoDTEP, Advance Authorization, and EPCG schemes without manual errors.
## Key points for exporters
1. **Self-Certification**: Exporters now manage their own remittance reconciliation via the DGFT dashboard.
2. **Reduced Lead Time**: The automated flow of data from banks to the DGFT server eliminates the need for physical visits to bank branches.
3. **Audit Readiness**: Maintaining accurate digital logs of these self-generated eBRCs is essential for future compliance audits. Exporters are advised to regularly monitor their 'Pending IRM' list to ensure all realizations are accounted for promptly.
