Industrial Subsidies India: New Credit Support for MSE Hubs 2024
Discover the new SIDBI-led credit support and interest subvention for Micro and Small Enterprise clusters under the upgraded MSE-CDP guidelines.

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has enhanced the Micro and Small Enterprises Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) to provide better financial synergy for industrial hubs. This initiative focuses on the creation of Common Facility Centres (CFCs) and infrastructure development that benefits groups of small-scale manufacturers, particularly in the manufacturing and processing sectors.
Following the recent Ministry guidelines, the government provides a grant of up to 80% for CFC projects in North Eastern and Hilly States, and up to 70% in other regions. This subsidy is pivotal for SMEs looking to access expensive testing labs, design centers, or processing machinery that would be unaffordable for a single unit. As per the latest MSE-CDP scheme portal, the focus has shifted toward 'Green Industrial Parks' with better waste management and renewable energy integration.
## Key points for SME clusters
Manufacturers operating within a cluster can now leverage collective bargaining for raw materials and shared technology. To avail of these benefits, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) consisting of at least 20 MSEs must be formed. The shift toward sustainable infrastructure means projects with solar power or water recycling facilities are now being prioritized for faster approvals and higher subsidy ceilings.
