RoDTEP Scheme Update 2026: New Rates for Marine Bio-Products
DGFT Public Notice No. 102/2026-27 announces updated RoDTEP rates for marine bio-products. Learn how to claim higher export refunds and boost global competitiveness.

## Key points
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, through the DGFT, has released Public Notice No. 102/2026-27 on August 13, 2026. This notice amends Appendix 4R of the RoDTEP (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products) scheme to include and revise rates for sustainable marine bio-products, including seaweed extracts and marine-based fertilizers.
The revision is designed to compensate exporters for embedded central, state, and local duties that are not currently refunded under other schemes. The new rates offer a competitive edge to SMEs exploring the blue economy and high-value sustainable agri-inputs.
## What this means for exporters
Exporters of these specific marine-derived goods can now realize a higher percentage of the FOB value as a tax refund, directly improving their bottom-line margins. To avail of these benefits, it is crucial to ensure that the correct HSN codes are declared in the shipping bills as per the revised Appendix 4R schedule.
Who should act now: Marine product exporters and bio-tech firms involved in processing sea-based raw materials for international markets.
