RoDTEP Scheme 2026: DGFT Extends Benefits to Special Economic Zones
DGFT Notification No. 45/2026 extends RoDTEP scheme benefits to SEZ units and EOUs for the 2026-27 period. Claim your export refunds and boost competitiveness.

## Key points
In a major move to level the playing field for Indian exporters, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued Notification No. 45/2026-27 dated August 14, 2026. This notification officially integrates Special Economic Zones (SEZ) and Export Oriented Units (EOU) into the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme for the upcoming fiscal cycle. Previously, these units faced restrictions on certain tariff lines, but the new order simplifies the inclusion process, allowing for seamless scrip generation on the ICEGATE portal.
## What this means for exporters
For SME exporters operating within SEZs, this is a direct boost to bottom-line profitability. By neutralizing local taxes and duties that were previously non-refundable, the RoDTEP scheme lowers the overall cost of exported goods. As per the new DGFT guidelines, the system will now automatically process scroll generation for SEZ shipping bills, provided the E-BRC is correctly mapped. This reduces documentation friction and improves cash flow for high-volume manufacturers.
Exporters should act now by verifying their RCMC status and ensuring all shipping bills from August 14th onwards carry the correct RoDTEP declaration.
